Necessary local data: your analytics preference and last international locale are stored in this browser. The locale is kept for up to 90 days only to show a return suggestion on the Korean home page; it never triggers an automatic redirect.
Website analytics may collect the page URL and title, browser and device information, interaction events, cookie or client identifiers, and an approximate region inferred from network information. IP addresses, online identifiers, and location context may be personal information when they identify or reasonably relate to an individual.
We collect only what is reasonably needed to understand reliability and improve page flows. These pages do not provide accounts, comments, ratings, photo uploads, or precise browser geolocation, and stopping analytics does not change forecasts or access information.
Analytics choice and withdrawal
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are enabled by default on these pages. You can stop analytics at any time from Privacy settings in the footer. A detected Global Privacy Control signal also disables analytics.
Stopping analytics removes the tracking scripts, attempts to clear related first-party cookies, stores your preference, and reloads the page. Data already collected remains subject to the retention periods below and applicable deletion rights.
Processors and overseas handling
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity process optional analytics. Cloudflare delivers the site and may process security and network logs. These providers may process information outside Australia under their contractual and legal safeguards.
Where the Australian Privacy Principles apply, overseas disclosures are assessed against APP 8 reasonable-steps and accountability requirements. This policy identifies the analytics categories and purposes, and the footer provides a persistent opt-out control.
Open-Meteo and CAMS supply build-time forecast information. Australian weather, fire, park, venue, and road authorities are source links or build inputs; StarsWithMe does not send them a visitor analytics identifier to serve a forecast page.
StarsWithMe does not sell personal information or use these pages for cross-site advertising profiles.
Retention
Your analytics preference remains in browser storage until you change it or clear site data. The last international locale expires after 90 days and is removed when you dismiss its return suggestion or clear site data.
User- and event-level Google Analytics data is retained for no more than 14 months under the StarsWithMe retention policy. Provider aggregate reports may not use the same user-level retention control.
Microsoft currently retains ordinary session recordings for 30 days and click or heatmap data, including labeled or favorited sessions, for up to 13 months. Security logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for abuse prevention and legal obligations.
Your choices and requests
You may stop analytics at any time. Where applicable, you may also request access or correction, ask what information we hold, object to processing, or request deletion.
Email [email protected]. We may request limited information to verify the requester and will explain if a legal exception applies.
Automated decision transparency review
The stargazing score uses forecast and astronomy data without an account or precise visitor location. It does not decide access to a significant service, contract, legal right, or benefit for an identified person.
Additional APP 1 privacy-policy duties for significant automated decisions using personal information commence on 10 December 2026. StarsWithMe will recheck applicability before that date and whenever the service begins using personal information for a decision that may significantly affect an individual.
